I did...
Initially I was disappointed at what I saw as he handed me a single 12" long fin that he'd completed... lol... It was reasonably well made though and would do the job...
He then showed me the rings from the V1 that he has made up... They're pretty much complete (ish) and kept in a bin liner... lol
He has all the wood he needs, plus a big roll of lining paper.
Because he's got nowhere under cover to store it he was concerned about getting it finished early and then being ruined in the rain.
I've told him to get it sorted as soon as he can and that I can always store it in my garage ready for you to pick up. I also mentioned that I was sure you'd be more than happy to pick it up early and that if necessary you'd finish anything he was stuck on and it was better to ask for help than struggle on... I got the impression that this was all taken on board.
So not 90% complete then ?

Started building this ere ramp . I can't decide yet if it's going ot look really wank or uber good . Either way at 42 feet it's deffo a prop too far in terms of man hours .
Fecking Ramp !! 42feet long . Now painted cammo a la 88mm .
At the min I'm looking at three journies to IED just to take all this crap over there , assuming Syd comes through . Lost count of man hours , must be well into the 50's now . & Don't ask about the budget either , we're well into the red .
PS You'd better all be fecking nice to me until July 2nd .

Feckers already had four weeks to get this far . He asked me if I was still ok skinning it , cheeky twat, I told him I wanted it as agreed in finished condition,nbar painting. I'm supposed to be picking it up on Tuesday , however as it currently stands I'm way underimpressed . It looks like I'm going ot have fuck more work and expense to get this to a workable condition.
Picked this V1 up last night . It's about 50% complete ie no better than the piccies posted above . I didn't give him a bad time about it , although he was expecting me to go mad with him.
He admitted he had bitten of far more than he can chew , although to be fair he's done enough graft to make finishing it off possible within the timescale. I'm a bit pissed off but then what's new ?

This V1 needs to have an additional
ffs.. take the whole of the deposit money rather than half. Anyone who complains should get a kick up the arse.
Guy, it really doesn't make sense that you are being left out of pocket for this event.
We should be carrying surplus if possible.
I know that you have mentioned that you think you made a mistake on the deposits thing, but if there's a way around it and you can be reimbursed then try and do it.

If you had asked I had enough to finish it off, I didnt realise you didnt have any. The rest went back to wicks on wednesday.
I'm having a few problems with work at the minute so Their is a chance I might not be able to come anyway, they are denying having recieved my holiday requests. I will of course keep you posted.
If syd/ syds mates come or not is not an issue . In fact if he doesn't come it will recoup the losses made on the V1 fiasco .
